Reflective Writing on Magazine Creation
Like all group projects, I usually take control. I am sure it is not necessary for me to lead the group, but if I am not in charge, the project is never close to what I intended it to be. I would not say that I dread working with group members, but it did add stress to an already stressful last week. I did not want to be too bossy or controlling, but I want the online magazine to be up to my expectations. I believe the more people included in making a project, the more confusing and difficult the project becomes. I do not believe that if the class were to work together to create an online magazine, it would be as thorough and informative as a small group would make it. With any large group, there are many ideas and opinions and with these ideas and opinions come opposition and disagreement. In order to successfully create an informative online magazine, the groups were split by topic. This made the project much more doable. However, our group still had a few issues communicating. In order to create an orderly magazine, our group had to split different media topics and create an index. We split the work evenly and by skill, so that our finished project portrayed the best of our skills. Ashley and I took lead from the first day that we worked as groups based on topic. We divided the work by skill found in our group, but we took the most difficult tasks for ourselves. I feel that we should have had a little more time to finish our online magazine because of the two reflective writings and the ePortfolio that were also due. However, our given due date was doable and it was not a big deal because the magazine is only worth five percent of the class grade. I feel that the finished online magazine turned out fine and it was entertaining to view all of our related, but different topics together in one magazine.
